How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the freezer before removing interior panels or touching the fan.

Steps:

Check fan operation: Open the door and listen for the evaporator fan. It may stop when the door is open; press the door switch to simulate a closed door. If no fan sound, test and replace the evaporator fan motor.
Inspect for ice: Remove the rear interior panel and look for ice buildup around the fan and evaporator. Defrost completely by unplugging the unit and letting it sit with doors open; use towels to catch water.
Clear vents: Ensure air vents at the back and sides inside the cabinet are not blocked by food packages.
Reassemble and test: After defrosting and verifying fan operation, reassemble and monitor temperatures.

Note: Recurrent ice buildup may indicate a defrost system problem that also needs attention.
