Possible Causes
Door gasket leaking, Condenser coils dirty, Ambient room temperature very high, Low refrigerant or weak compressor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the freezer before cleaning coils or adjusting components.
- Step 1 – Check door seal: Inspect the gasket for cracks or warping. Perform the paper test around the door perimeter. Replace gasket if it fails to grip.
- Step 2 – Clean condenser: Remove dust and debris from condenser coils and fan as described earlier.
- Step 3 – Verify installation: Ensure at least the manufacturer-recommended clearance around the freezer for proper ventilation.
- Step 4 – Monitor temperature: If the freezer maintains 0°F (-18°C) but runs long in a hot room, this may be normal. If it cannot reach set temperature, a sealed system issue may exist and requires service.
