Possible Causes
Temperature set too low, Faulty freezer thermistor, Stuck relay on main control board, Air damper stuck open (if shared system)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing sensors or control boards.
- Step 1 – Adjust setpoint: Raise the freezer temperature setting by a few degrees and wait 24 hours to see if conditions improve.
- Step 2 – Check sensor placement: Ensure the thermistor is properly clipped to the liner or evaporator cover and not touching the evaporator coil directly unless designed to.
- Step 3 – Reset control: Unplug for 5 minutes, then restore power and reprogram settings.
- Step 4 – Replace thermistor if needed: If the freezer continues to overcool, the thermistor may be misreading temperature and should be replaced.
