• 3. Clean the area: Use a soft brush and vacuum to clean the condenser coils and fan blades. Improved airflow can reduce compressor temperature.
• 4. Test fan movement: Spin the fan blade by hand. If it is stiff, noisy, or seized, the motor is likely bad.
• 5. Check wiring: Inspect the fan connector and harness for damage or corrosion. Reseat the connector.
• 6. Test the motor: With the fan disconnected and freezer unplugged, measure resistance across the motor leads. An open circuit indicates a failed motor. If you have the skills, you can also check for proper voltage at the fan connector when powered.
• 7. Replace the fan motor: If defective, remove mounting screws, transfer the blade to the new Kenmore-compatible condenser fan motor, and reinstall.
• 8. Reassemble and test: Reinstall the rear panel, restore power, and verify that the fan runs when the compressor is on and that E8 clears.
