• Step 2 – Inspect door gasket: Look for gaps, tears, or hardened sections. Perform the dollar-bill test around the door.
• Step 3 – Clean condenser coils: Dirty coils cause long run times. Clean them thoroughly.
• Step 4 – Verify temperature: Use a thermometer to confirm the freezer is near 0°F. If it is correct but the unit never cycles off, suspect a sensor or control issue.

If sealing and cleaning do not reduce run time, a faulty thermistor or control board may be the cause and should be tested by a technician.
