• 1. Power cycle: Unplug the freezer for 10–15 minutes to allow capacitors to discharge. Reconnect and check if E8 clears temporarily. If it returns, continue.
• 2. Check harness connections: Access the control box (usually at the rear or top). Inspect all multi-pin connectors between the main PCB and display PCB. Reseat each connector firmly.
• 3. Inspect PCB visually: Look for burnt components, bulging capacitors, or signs of moisture damage on the main control PCB.
• 4. Verify supply voltages (advanced): If you are trained and have a multimeter, you can check that the PCB is receiving mains input and producing the correct low-voltage outputs (e.g., 5 V, 12 V). Only perform live tests if you are competent and follow electrical safety procedures.
• 5. Replace main control PCB: If E8 persists and wiring is intact, the PCB is likely defective. Order a model-specific Leisure main control PCB. Transfer any configuration jumpers as per the original board and mount it securely in the enclosure.
• 6. Reconnect all harnesses: Ensure each plug is fully seated and keyed correctly. Misconnection can damage the new board.
• 7. Restore power and test: Power on the freezer, set the desired temperature, and monitor for normal compressor and fan operation. Confirm that E8 no longer appears.
• 8. If E8 remains after PCB replacement: There may be a wiring short or a faulty display PCB feeding incorrect signals. At this stage, professional diagnosis is recommended.
