Safety: Unplug the freezer and allow ice to melt before working near the evaporator and heater. Avoid live testing unless you are qualified.

Steps to resolve F2 (defrost heater):

• 1. Manually defrost: Remove drawers and rear inner panel, and allow all ice to melt naturally.
• 2. Locate defrost heater: The heater is usually a metal or glass-encased element attached to the bottom or around the perimeter of the evaporator on Leisure frost-free freezers.
• 3. Test continuity: Disconnect the heater leads and measure resistance with a multimeter. A typical heater will show a finite resistance (e.g., 50–300 Ω). An open circuit indicates a failed heater.
• 4. Check thermal fuse (if fitted): Some models include a thermal fuse in series with the heater. Test for continuity and replace if open.
• 5. Inspect wiring: Repair any burnt or broken wires and ensure connectors are tight.
• 6. Replace heater: Install a new Leisure defrost heater element and any associated thermal fuse. Secure it firmly to the evaporator as originally installed.
• 7. Reassemble and test: Refit the evaporator cover, restore power, and monitor over several days to ensure frost does not build up again and that F2 does not reappear.
• 8. If heater and wiring are good: The main control PCB defrost relay may be faulty and require PCB replacement.
