Possible Causes
Stuck or failed super-freeze button, Faulty super-freeze indicator circuit on display PCB, Main PCB not recognizing super-freeze command, Wiring fault between UI and main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before removing the control panel.
Steps to address F5 (super-freeze fault):
- 1. Check button operation: Press the super-freeze button and feel for a positive click. If it is stuck or unresponsive, the switch may be faulty.
- 2. Access display PCB: Remove the control fascia and inspect the button contacts on the display PCB. Clean any contamination and check for cracked solder joints.
- 3. Test continuity: With a multimeter, test the button contacts while pressing the switch. Replace the display PCB if the switch does not make contact.
- 4. Check harness to main PCB: Ensure the command signal wires are intact and connectors are seated.
- 5. Replace main PCB if UI is good: If the button and display PCB are functioning but the main PCB does not activate super-freeze, replace the main control PCB.
