Possible Causes
Failed mechanical door switch, Misaligned magnetic reed sensor (on some models), Broken door switch wiring, Faulty input on main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the freezer before removing the door switch or sensor.
Steps to resolve F6 (door sensor):
- 1. Locate door switch: On most Leisure freezers, the door switch is in the cabinet frame near the top or side. Some models use a magnetic reed sensor hidden in the frame.
- 2. Test operation: Press the switch manually; the interior light should turn off. If it does not, the switch or wiring is suspect.
- 3. Remove and test switch: Gently pry out the switch, disconnect the wires, and test continuity with a multimeter while pressing the plunger. Replace if faulty.
- 4. Check wiring: Inspect the harness for breaks or loose connectors back to the main PCB.
- 5. Replace sensor/switch: Install a new Leisure door switch or magnetic door sensor as per your model.
- 6. Restore power and test: Confirm that the light now turns off with the door closed and that F6 clears.
