How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Food safety is critical. If the freezer has been above -9°C for several hours, evaluate food for spoilage.
Steps to address H1/HI (high temperature):
- 1. Check door and gasket: Ensure the door is fully closing and the Leisure door gasket is intact, clean, and not warped. Remove any items blocking closure.
- 2. Allow recovery time: If you recently added a large quantity of unfrozen food or had a power cut, allow 12–24 hours for the temperature to recover. Keep the door closed as much as possible.
- 3. Verify compressor operation: Listen for the compressor running and feel for a gentle vibration at the rear. The condenser (back or sides) should become warm.
- 4. Check for frost pattern: If accessible, remove the inner rear panel and inspect the evaporator. A normal system shows an even frost pattern across most of the coil. No frost or only a small patch suggests a sealed system issue.
- 5. Inspect cabinet sensor: If the freezer feels cold but the display still shows high temperature, test the cabinet NTC sensor as described in the E1 procedure and replace if out of range.
- 6. Clean condenser: If the condenser is dusty, clean it with a soft brush and vacuum to improve cooling efficiency.
- 7. If compressor not running or frost pattern abnormal: This may indicate a compressor or refrigerant problem. Contact a qualified refrigeration technician; sealed system work is not DIY-safe.
