If you are not confident in your ability to perform this repair safely, we strongly recommend contacting a professional technician.
Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the freezer before removing control panels or touching circuit boards.
E6 indicates a data communication problem between boards.
- Power cycle: Unplug for 5–10 minutes and plug back in. If E6 returns immediately, continue.
- Access display PCB: Remove the front control panel or dispenser panel (if present) by releasing clips or screws.
- Check harness: Inspect the ribbon cable or wire harness between the display PCB and the main PCB. Look for kinks, cuts, or burn marks.
- Reseat connectors: Disconnect and reconnect both ends of the harness several times to clean contacts. Ensure they lock firmly.
- Inspect for corrosion: Look for moisture or corrosion on the display PCB. If present, the board may need replacement.
- Check main PCB: From the rear access panel, verify the harness is fully seated on the main board and that there are no burnt components.
If reseating and inspecting the harness does not clear E6, either the display PCB or main PCB is likely defective. Board-level diagnosis is best handled by a technician.
