Freezer shows E7; ambient temperature readings may be incorrect, causing improper cooling cycles.

The ambient sensor helps the control adjust operation based on room temperature.

• Locate ambient sensor: On many LG units, it is near the front toe grille, behind the control panel, or in the hinge area. Refer to the user or service manual if available.
• Inspect sensor and wiring: Check for physical damage, rodent-chewed wires, or corrosion. Ensure the sensor is not dangling or touching hot components.
• Test sensor: Disconnect and measure resistance at room temperature. Compare to LG spec. Replace if open, shorted, or far out of range.
• Secure placement: When installing a new sensor, mount it in the original location so it measures room air, not internal freezer air.

If the sensor and wiring are good but E7 persists, the main PCB input circuit may be faulty and require professional replacement.
