Freezer shows E9; condenser fan may not run, cabinet sides may feel very hot, and cooling performance drops.

Safety: Unplug the freezer before working at the rear or bottom where the compressor and condenser are located.

E9 points to a problem with the condenser fan, which cools the condenser coil and compressor.

• Access condenser fan: Remove the rear lower access panel to expose the compressor, condenser coil, and fan.
• Clean area: Vacuum dust from the condenser coil and fan blades. Ensure nothing is blocking the fan.
• Spin test: Turn the fan blades by hand. If stiff, noisy, or wobbly, the motor should be replaced.
• Check wiring: Inspect the fan harness and connector for burns or loose pins. Reseat the connector.
• Test operation: Restore power briefly and observe if the fan starts when the compressor runs. If not, and voltage is present at the fan connector, replace the fan motor.

If the fan is good and receives no voltage, the main control board may be faulty and should be evaluated by a professional.
