Possible Causes
Freezer thermistor reading too warm, Door gasket leaking, Freezer located in very warm environment, Dirty condenser coil reducing efficiency
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the freezer before cleaning coils or accessing sensors.
- Check environment: Ensure the freezer is not in a hot garage or near heat sources. Provide adequate ventilation around it.
- Clean condenser: Vacuum dust from the condenser coil and grille.
- Inspect door gasket: Perform the dollar-bill test and repair/replace gasket if leaking.
- Test thermistor: If run time remains excessive, test and replace the freezer thermistor if it reads incorrectly.
If the unit still runs excessively with all components good, the main PCB may be mismanaging compressor cycles and should be evaluated by a technician.
