Heavy frost buildup on food and shelves, especially near the door.

Safety: No electrical work is required for this procedure, but avoid using sharp tools on gaskets.

• Inspect gasket: Check the entire perimeter of the freezer door gasket for tears, gaps, or hardened sections.
• Dollar-bill test: Close the door on a piece of paper and gently pull. If it slides out easily, the seal is weak in that area.
• Clean gasket and frame: Wipe with warm soapy water to remove debris that may prevent sealing.
• Reshape gasket: Use a hair dryer on low to gently warm and reshape warped sections, then press them into place.
• Adjust door: If the door is sagging, adjust the hinges according to the service manual.
• Replace gasket: If damaged, replace with an LG-specific freezer door gasket.

After repair, defrost existing frost and monitor for improvement.
