Possible Causes

Clogged defrost drain hole under evaporator, Frozen drain tube, Cracked or misaligned drip tray above compressor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the freezer before working near water and electrical parts.

Steps:

  • Locate drain hole: Inside the freezer, remove drawers and the rear panel to find the small drain hole beneath the evaporator.
  • Clear blockage: Use warm (not boiling) water and a plastic syringe or turkey baster to flush the drain. Gently insert a flexible plastic rod or pipe cleaner to dislodge debris.
  • Check rear drip tray: At the back, inspect the plastic drip tray above the compressor. Ensure it is seated correctly and not cracked.

Remedy: If the drain repeatedly freezes, check door seals and defrost system operation. Replace a damaged drain tube or drip tray with Liebherr parts as needed.
