Possible Causes
Loose or bent door hinges, Warped door, Overloaded door shelves, Misaligned cabinet or not level
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the freezer before adjusting hinges to avoid accidental fan or compressor operation.
- Level the cabinet: Use a spirit level and adjust the front feet so the freezer leans slightly back. This helps the door close by gravity.
- Inspect hinges: Check the top and bottom hinges for looseness or bending. Tighten hinge screws and replace any damaged door hinge components.
- Reduce door load: Remove heavy items from the door shelves that may be pulling the door out of alignment.
- Check gasket contact: Close the door on a strip of paper at several points. If it pulls out easily, adjust the door position or replace the gasket.
