Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the freezer before accessing the rear compartment.
- Check unit level and clearance: Ensure the freezer is level and not touching the wall or cabinets. Adjust feet to reduce vibration.
- Inspect condenser fan: Remove the rear panel and observe the condenser fan motor. If the noise comes from the fan or if the blades wobble, replace the fan motor.
- Check compressor mounts: Inspect the rubber grommets under the compressor. If cracked or missing, replace the compressor mounting grommets to reduce noise.
- Isolate panels: Tighten any loose screws on the rear panel and use foam strips where metal parts vibrate against each other.
Note: A low-level hum from the compressor is normal. Very loud or grinding noises from inside the compressor indicate internal failure and require professional replacement.
