Normal Pressure Equalization / Door Vacuum
Freezer door is hard to open right after closing; a vacuum seems to hold it shut.

Possible Causes
Warm air entering and cooling rapidly, Check valve or vent design causing temporary vacuum, Door gasket sealing very tightly
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: No electrical work is required. This condition is usually normal.
Steps:
- Wait a few minutes: After closing the door, wait 30–60 seconds before reopening. The internal pressure will equalize and the door will open more easily.
- Check gasket and hinges: Ensure the door is aligned and the gasket is not twisted, which can increase suction.
- Verify venting: Some models have a small vent or check valve; ensure it is not blocked by packaging or ice.
Note: A brief vacuum effect is normal and not a fault unless the door remains extremely difficult to open for several minutes.
