Safety: Unplug the freezer before accessing the fan. Evaporator fins are sharp.

Steps:

Confirm noise source: Open the door while the unit is running. If the noise changes or stops when the door switch is pressed (stopping the fan), the evaporator fan is the source.
Access the fan: Remove shelves and the rear interior panel to expose the fan.
Check for ice: Remove any ice buildup around the fan shroud and blades using warm air.
Inspect fan alignment: Ensure the blade is centered in the shroud and not rubbing. Adjust if necessary.
Replace the fan motor: If the noise persists or the motor feels rough when spun by hand, replace the evaporator fan motor and transfer the blade if needed.

Freezer interior is very noisy with a high-pitched squeal or chirp, especially when the door is opened or closed.
