Possible Causes
Burned-out LED or incandescent bulb, Faulty door switch, Loose light socket wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the freezer before replacing bulbs or working on the door switch.
Steps:
- Check the bulb: Remove the light cover and inspect the bulb. Replace with the correct type and wattage (or LED module) specified for your Magic Chef model.
- Test the door switch: Locate the plunger switch near the door frame. Press it in and out; if the light flickers or never comes on, the switch may be faulty.
- Check switch continuity: With the unit unplugged, remove the switch and test with a multimeter. It should show continuity when pressed (or released, depending on design). Replace if defective.
- Inspect wiring: Ensure the light socket and switch wiring are firmly connected and not damaged.
- Reassemble and test: Restore power and verify that the light operates correctly when the door opens and closes.
