Possible Causes

Impact from sharp or heavy items, Age-related plastic fatigue, Expansion and contraction stress

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Do not drill deeply into the liner; refrigerant lines may be close behind.

Steps:

  • Inspect crack: Determine if the crack is superficial or goes through to insulation (air or moisture entering).
  • Seal small cracks: Clean and dry the area. Use a food-safe epoxy or appliance liner repair kit to seal the crack. Follow product instructions for curing time.
  • Monitor for frost: If frost continues to form around the repair, the crack may be deeper or additional leaks may exist.

Note: Extensive liner damage can be difficult to repair permanently and may require cabinet replacement, which is often not economical.
