Possible Causes
Misaligned door, Defective door contact switch or sensor, Weak or missing door magnet, Warped door seal preventing proper closure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power if you need to remove trims or access wiring.
Steps:
- 1. Check physical closure: Close the door firmly and check that it sits flush with the cabinet on all sides. Look for gaps in the gasket.
- 2. Inspect door seal: Clean the gasket with warm soapy water and dry. Check for tears, deformation, or hardened sections. Replace if damaged.
- 3. Test door switch: Locate the door switch or magnetic sensor area. With the door open, press the switch or hold a magnet over the sensor. If the alarm does not stop, the switch or sensor may be faulty.
- 4. Adjust hinges: On some Miele models, hinge adjustment screws allow you to raise or lower the door for better alignment. Adjust so the door closes evenly.
- 5. Replace faulty components: If the door switch or magnet is defective, install the correct Miele replacement part.
