Possible Causes
Stuck or shorted keypad button, Moisture ingress into touch panel, Damaged touch sensor IC, Faulty user interface PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the freezer before removing the control panel.
Steps:
- 1. Observe buttons: Check if any button feels stuck or does not click. A permanently pressed button can trigger F12.
- 2. Dry the panel: If condensation or liquid spills occurred, gently dry the area and allow the panel to air out for several hours with the appliance unplugged.
- 3. Remove and inspect UI: Take off the control panel and inspect the PCB for corrosion, especially around button contacts.
- 4. Clean contacts: Use isopropyl alcohol and a soft brush to clean light corrosion. Let it dry completely before reassembly.
- 5. Replace UI module: If buttons are physically damaged or the PCB is heavily corroded, replace the user interface module.
