Possible Causes

Defective SuperFreeze button or touch sensor, Faulty SuperFreeze indicator LED circuit, Control board output failure for SuperFreeze mode, Wiring fault between user interface and main PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power before removing the control panel or display module.

Steps:

  • 1. Test SuperFreeze function: Attempt to activate SuperFreeze. If the indicator does not light or F8 appears, suspect the control path.
  • 2. Inspect user interface: Remove the front control panel (usually clipped or screwed in). Check the tactile switch or touch sensor for physical damage or contamination.
  • 3. Check ribbon cable / harness: Ensure the cable between the user interface and main control board is fully seated and not damaged.
  • 4. Visual inspection of UI PCB: Look for corrosion from condensation, cracked solder joints, or burnt components. Clean light corrosion with isopropyl alcohol and a soft brush.
  • 5. Replace faulty module: If the switch or UI PCB is defective, replace with the correct Miele user interface module. If UI is good but F8 persists, the main control board output may be faulty and require replacement.
