Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before removing control panels or touching electronic boards.
- Power cycle: Turn off power at the breaker for 5–10 minutes, then restore. If E6 returns, proceed with inspection.
- Access user interface: Remove the control panel trim (often at the top of the door or inside the cabinet) to access the UI board.
- Check harness connections: Reseat the ribbon cable or harness between the UI and main control. Ensure connectors are fully seated and locking tabs engaged.
- Inspect cable: Look for kinks, cuts, or pinch points, especially where the harness passes through the cabinet or hinge area.
- Board inspection: Examine both UI and main control boards for burnt components, corrosion, or moisture damage.
If reseating and inspecting the harness does not clear E6, either the UI board or main control board is likely defective. Board-level diagnosis and replacement are typically a level-4/5 repair and may be best handled by a Monogram-trained technician.
