Possible Causes
Door left open, heavy warm food load, failed evaporator fan, condenser coils clogged, low refrigerant charge or sealed system leak
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Basic airflow and cleaning checks are safe for most users. Sealed system work must be done by a certified technician.
- Confirm door closure: Ensure the door is fully closed and sealing properly. Clear any obstructions.
- Check for recent loading: If a large quantity of warm food was added, allow 24 hours for temperature to stabilize.
- Listen for fans and compressor: Verify that the compressor and interior fan run. If the evaporator fan is silent while the compressor runs, see the E8 steps.
- Clean condenser: Unplug the unit, remove the lower front or rear grill, and vacuum dust from the condenser coils. Restore power and monitor.
- Monitor temperature: Use a freezer thermometer to verify actual temperature. If it remains high despite good airflow and normal fan/compressor operation, a sealed system issue (leak, restriction, weak compressor) is likely.
If H1 persists and the freezer cannot reach 0°F (-18°C), contact a Monogram-authorized technician for sealed system diagnosis.
