- Basic checks first: Confirm door is sealing, condenser coils are clean, and fans are operating. If all are normal and the unit still cannot reach 0°F (-18°C), a sealed system issue is likely.
- Observe frost pattern: With the rear interior panel removed, a healthy system shows even frost across most of the evaporator. Frost only on the first few coils near the inlet often indicates low charge or restriction.
