Possible Causes
Defective DC evaporator fan with tach feedback, Broken tachometer wire in fan harness, Obstruction causing fan to stall, Faulty fan driver circuit on main control module
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the freezer before working near the fan or wiring.
Steps:
- 1. Access the fan: Remove drawers and the rear inner panel to expose the evaporator fan assembly.
- 2. Check for obstructions: Ensure no ice, packaging, or wiring is interfering with the fan blades. Defrost any ice buildup completely.
- 3. Inspect wiring: For DC fans with three wires (power, ground, tach), check that all wires are intact and connectors are fully seated.
- 4. Replace fan if faulty: If the fan does not spin freely by hand or shows signs of bearing failure, replace it with the correct Neff DC evaporator fan motor.
- 5. Control board diagnosis: If a new fan does not resolve E13, the fan driver or tach input on the main control module may be defective, requiring professional replacement.
