Possible Causes
Blocked ventilation around control module, Failed internal PCB temperature sensor, Overheating due to high ambient temperature, Faulty main control module
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the freezer before removing any covers.
Steps:
- 1. Improve ventilation: Ensure there is adequate space around the freezer, especially at the top and rear where the control and condenser are located. Remove any items blocking vents.
- 2. Check ambient temperature: If the appliance is installed in a very hot room or enclosed cabinet, relocate it or improve airflow.
- 3. Inspect control housing: Remove the control cover and check for dust buildup or blocked airflow paths. Clean gently with a vacuum and soft brush.
- 4. Look for heat damage: Examine the PCB for darkened areas or components that appear overheated. If present, the board should be replaced.
- 5. Replace main control module: If E15 recurs despite good ventilation and no visible obstruction, the internal temperature sensor or logic on the board may be faulty. Replace the module with a genuine Neff part.
