Possible Causes
Loose evaporator fan blades or housing, Ice buildup contacting fan, Loose internal panels or shelves, Refrigerant lines vibrating against cabinet
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the freezer before removing internal panels or working near the fan.
Steps:
- 1. Identify noise source: Open the door while the noise is present. If it stops, the evaporator fan is likely involved. If it continues, the compressor or external components may be the source.
- 2. Check fan area: Remove drawers and the rear inner panel. Inspect the fan blades for damage and ensure they are firmly attached to the motor shaft. Remove any ice or debris.
- 3. Tighten panels and shelves: Ensure all internal panels, rails, and shelves are properly seated and not vibrating.
- 4. Inspect tubing: At the rear, check that copper or aluminum refrigerant lines are not touching each other or the cabinet. Gently bend them away and insert foam or rubber spacers if needed.
