Possible Causes
Worn fan motor bearings, Ice or frost contacting fan blades, Misaligned fan shroud
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the freezer before accessing the fan.
Steps:
- 1. Access fan: Remove drawers and the rear inner panel to expose the evaporator fan.
- 2. Check for ice: Look for frost or ice around the fan. Fully defrost the unit if necessary and verify the defrost system is working.
- 3. Spin test: Gently spin the fan blades by hand. If they feel rough or do not spin freely, the motor bearings are worn.
- 4. Replace fan motor: Install a new Neff-compatible evaporator fan motor, transferring the fan blade if separate. Ensure the fan is centered in the shroud.
