Possible Causes
Faulty freezer temperature sensor (NTC) reading too warm, Stuck compressor relay on main control module, Miscalibrated control electronics, Shorted sensor wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before testing sensors or accessing the control board.
Steps:
- 1. Verify temperature: Use a thermometer to confirm actual temperature. If it is much lower than the setpoint, control is faulty.
- 2. Check sensor: Access the freezer NTC sensor and test its resistance. Replace if readings are out of specification.
- 3. Inspect control relay: On the main control module, check if the compressor relay contacts are welded closed (compressor runs even when the board should be off). If so, replace the module.
- 4. Wiring check: Inspect sensor wiring for shorts that could cause the control to think the freezer is warm.
