Possible Causes
Dirty or blocked condenser coils, Failed condenser fan (if fitted), Door gasket leaking warm air, Partial refrigerant loss or weak compressor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the freezer before cleaning coils or working near the compressor.
Steps:
- 1. Clean condenser: Move the freezer away from the wall and vacuum dust from the condenser coils or grid. Use a soft brush to remove stubborn dirt.
- 2. Check condenser fan: If your Neff freezer has a fan near the compressor, ensure it runs when the compressor is on. Replace the fan motor if it does not run.
- 3. Inspect door gasket: Look for gaps, tears, or hardened sections in the door seal. Close the door on a sheet of paper; if it pulls out easily, the seal may be weak. Replace the gasket if necessary.
- 4. Monitor performance: After cleaning and gasket checks, allow 12–24 hours. If the freezer still cannot reach -18°C, a sealed system issue is likely and requires professional service.
