Possible Causes
Worn or damaged membrane switches, Moisture ingress into control fascia, Loose keypad ribbon cable, Faulty display/UI PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the freezer before opening the control panel.
Steps to fix unresponsive buttons:
- 1. Clean fascia: Wipe the control panel with a slightly damp cloth to remove sticky residues that may affect touch buttons (do not soak).
- 2. Access UI board: Remove the control fascia to expose the user interface PCB and keypad membrane.
- 3. Reseat ribbon cable: Disconnect and reconnect the keypad ribbon cable to the UI board.
- 4. Inspect for moisture: Look for signs of water ingress or corrosion. Dry thoroughly if minor; replace the UI PCB if corrosion is extensive.
- 5. Replace keypad/UI: If specific buttons never work, replace the display/user interface assembly as a unit.
Note: Avoid spraying cleaners directly onto the control panel; spray onto a cloth instead.
