Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect mains power before opening the control panel. Avoid static discharge to electronic boards; ground yourself if possible.
Steps to resolve E6 (UI communication):
- 1. Power cycle: Unplug the freezer for 10 minutes, then reconnect. If E6 returns, proceed with inspection.
- 2. Access the control panel: Remove screws or clips holding the front display/control fascia. Gently pull it forward to expose the wiring and ribbon cables.
- 3. Check connections: Locate the ribbon cable or harness between the display PCB and the main control PCB. Reseat both ends, ensuring they are fully inserted and locked.
- 4. Inspect for damage: Look for corrosion, water marks, or cracked solder joints on the display board. If the fascia has been exposed to condensation or spills, the UI board may be damaged.
- 5. Test operation: With the panel still accessible, restore power and see if E6 clears and buttons respond. If so, reassemble carefully without pinching cables.
- 6. Replace faulty board: If the display remains unresponsive or E6 persists, replace the New World display/user interface PCB. If a new UI does not resolve the issue, the main control PCB is likely at fault and must be replaced.
Note: Do not bridge or short pins on the PCB to "test" it; this can permanently damage the electronics.
