E7 error appears and the freezer may not maintain correct temperature; fan may run erratically or not at all.

Steps to fix E7 (evaporator fan fault):

• 1. Listen for fan operation: After closing the door switch (with door open) and when the compressor is running, you should normally hear the evaporator fan. If silent, suspect a fan issue.
• 2. Access the fan: Remove baskets and the rear inner panel of the freezer compartment to expose the evaporator fan motor and shroud.
• 3. Check for ice or obstruction: Look for ice buildup around the fan blades or shroud. If present, fully defrost the area and ensure the blades spin freely by hand (with power off).
• 4. Inspect wiring: Examine the fan motor wiring harness for damage or loose connectors at both the fan and the main PCB.
• 5. Test the fan motor: With the freezer unplugged, disconnect the fan and measure resistance across the motor terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed motor. On some models, the fan is DC and driven by the PCB; consult specifications if available.
• 6. Replace the fan motor if faulty: Install a new New World evaporator fan motor assembly. Ensure the fan rotates in the correct direction and that the shroud is correctly positioned.
• 7. Check PCB if fan is good: If the fan tests OK but never receives power, the main control PCB fan driver or relay may be defective and require replacement.

Tip: Persistent ice around the fan may indicate an underlying defrost system problem; check defrost heater and sensor if icing recurs.
