Compressor Restart Delay / Thermal Protection
Freezer does not restart after a brief power cut; remains off for a long time before coming back on.

Possible Causes
Built‑in anti‑short‑cycle delay in control PCB, Overheated compressor requiring cool‑down, Weak start relay struggling with hot starts
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: No immediate repair may be needed; do not repeatedly switch the freezer on and off.
Steps to understand and mitigate delayed restart:
- 1. Wait for delay: Many New World freezers include a 3–5 minute delay after power restoration to protect the compressor. This is normal.
- 2. Check overheating: If the compressor is very hot to the touch and does not restart for 20–30 minutes, the overload protector may be tripping. Improve ventilation and clean the condenser.
- 3. Replace weak start components: If hot restarts are unreliable, replace the compressor start relay/PTC and overload protector.
Note: If the freezer fails to restart at all after power returns, treat it as a no‑cool fault and diagnose the compressor circuit.
