Possible Causes
Rapid cooling of warm air inside cabinet, Blocked pressure equalization vent, Door gasket sealing too tightly
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: No electrical work required. Do not force the door open with tools.
Steps to manage door suction:
- 1. Wait briefly: It is normal for a vacuum to form after closing the door. Wait 30–60 seconds before reopening.
- 2. Check vent: Some New World freezers have a small pressure equalization vent. Ensure it is not blocked by food or ice.
- 3. Gasket lubrication: Lightly wipe the door gasket with a damp cloth. In rare cases, a very thin film of food‑safe silicone can reduce sticking.
Note: Strong suction alone is not a fault if temperatures are correct and the door opens normally after a short delay.
