Freezer makes loud humming or buzzing noise from the rear, louder than usual, but still cools.

Possible Causes
Worn compressor mounting grommets, Condenser fan motor bearings worn (if fitted), Vibration against cabinet or pipes touching, High refrigerant pressure due to dirty condenser
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the freezer before touching the compressor or fan. Components may be hot.
Steps to reduce humming/buzzing:
- 1. Level the appliance: Ensure the freezer is level and stable. Adjust feet so it does not rock.
- 2. Check for contact points: Look for copper pipes or the compressor shell touching the cabinet or back panel. Gently bend pipes slightly away to create clearance (do not kink).
- 3. Inspect compressor mounts: Check the rubber compressor mounting grommets. Replace if hardened or cracked.
- 4. Condenser fan (if present): Clean the fan blades and check for wobble or grinding noise. Replace the condenser fan motor if noisy.
Note: Some compressor noise is normal. Sudden changes or metallic knocking should be evaluated by a technician.
