Freezer not cooling at all, interior at room temperature, compressor not running and no humming sound.

Safety: Unplug the freezer before working on the compressor or control board. High voltage is present when powered.

Steps to diagnose a non‑starting compressor:

• 1. Confirm power: Check that the wall outlet has power and the freezer's plug and cord are intact. Verify any internal fuse or mains filter is not open.
• 2. Listen for clicks: Plug in briefly and listen at the rear. Repeated clicks without humming suggest start relay/overload issues.
• 3. Access compressor components: Unplug, remove the rear lower cover, and expose the compressor start relay/PTC and overload protector.
• 4. Inspect and test: Check for burnt or cracked start components. Test the compressor windings for continuity and for shorts to ground. If windings are OK, replace the start relay/PTC and overload with genuine New World parts.
• 5. Check control board output: If the compressor still does not receive power, the main control PCB may have a failed relay or track. Replacement is usually required.

When to stop: If the compressor windings are open or shorted, or if the compressor overheats and trips quickly, a sealed system repair is needed and should be done by a refrigeration technician.
