Overheating Condenser or Poor Ventilation
Freezer runs continuously and is very hot to the touch on the sides or top.

Possible Causes
Insufficient clearance around freezer, Condenser coils clogged with dust, Condenser fan not running (if fitted), High ambient temperature beyond design
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the freezer before cleaning coils or accessing the fan. Surfaces may be hot.
Steps to reduce overheating:
- 1. Improve ventilation: Ensure there is adequate space around the freezer (check New World manual, typically several centimeters on sides and rear).
- 2. Clean condenser: Vacuum or brush dust from the condenser coils and grille. On models with a condenser fan, clean the blades and ensure they spin freely.
- 3. Check fan operation: When powered, confirm the condenser fan runs whenever the compressor is on. Replace the condenser fan motor if it does not run.
- 4. Ambient temperature: Avoid placing the freezer in very hot locations (e.g., next to ovens or in direct sunlight).
Note: Some warmth on the cabinet sides is normal, but excessive heat and continuous running indicate a problem.
