Door Switch / Door Sensor Fault
H31 error, freezer interior light and display may flicker, unit may not cool

Possible Causes
Defective magnetic door reed switch, misaligned door magnet, broken door switch wiring, failed input circuit on main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before removing trims or panels around the door frame.
Steps:
- 1. Observe light behavior: Open and close the door. If the interior LED does not respond correctly, the door switch circuit is suspect.
- 2. Locate door sensor: On many Panasonic freezers, a magnetic reed switch is hidden in the cabinet frame, with a magnet in the door gasket area.
- 3. Check magnet alignment: Inspect the door gasket and frame for damage or warping that might move the magnet away from the switch. Adjust door hinges if the door is sagging.
- 4. Test switch (if accessible): If the reed switch is accessible, disconnect it and test continuity while placing a magnet near it. It should open and close reliably.
- 5. Wiring inspection: Check the harness from the switch to the control PCB for pinched or broken wires, especially near the hinge area.
- 6. Replace faulty parts: Install a new Panasonic door switch or magnet as required. If the switch and wiring are good, the main PCB input may be defective.
