Post-Transport Protection / Oil Migration
Freezer will not start after being transported or moved
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Compressor oil displaced into refrigerant lines, tilt during transport, internal overload tripped
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Do not plug in the freezer immediately after moving.
Steps:
- 1. Upright rest: If the freezer was transported on its side, stand it upright and leave it unplugged for at least 4–6 hours (24 hours if heavily tilted) to allow oil to return to the compressor.
- 2. Then power on: After the rest period, plug in and monitor for normal operation.
- 3. If still not starting: Follow the no-cooling and compressor start failure diagnostics.
