Steps to address E7:

• 1. Inspect exterior: Check for signs of condensation or spills around the control panel. Dry the area thoroughly.
• 2. Open control panel: Remove screws securing the top/front control housing. Carefully separate the housing to expose the display board and ribbon cable.
• 3. Check ribbon cable: Ensure the flat ribbon cable is fully inserted and locked into its connector on both the display and main board. Reseat it by gently removing and reinserting.
• 4. Look for corrosion: Examine connectors and the display board for green/white corrosion or burnt spots. Light corrosion can be cleaned with contact cleaner and a soft brush.
• 5. Dry out moisture: If moisture is present, allow the panel to air dry completely or use a hair dryer on cool/low from a distance. Do not overheat the plastic or electronics.
• 6. Replace display board if faulty: If the E7 code and display issues persist, install an RCA-compatible user interface/display PCB, transferring any overlay or keypad as needed.
• 7. Reassemble and test: Reinstall the control housing, restore power, and verify that the display works and E7 is cleared.
