Safety first: Unplug the freezer before cleaning or accessing components.

Steps to reduce short cycling:

1. Clean condenser: Remove dust and debris from coils and fan to improve cooling efficiency and reduce compressor load.
2. Check ambient temperature: Ensure the freezer is not in an extremely hot or unventilated space.
3. Inspect thermostat/sensor: On mechanical models, test the thermostat for proper operation. On electronic models, test the cabinet thermistor as described for E1.
4. Observe compressor: If the compressor is very hot and shutting off on overload, the start components or compressor may be failing.
5. Control board: If mechanical and sensor issues are ruled out, a sticking relay on the main control board may be causing rapid cycling and may require board replacement.

Warning: Persistent short cycling can quickly damage the compressor; address the cause promptly.
