Possible Causes
Failed condenser fan motor, Fan blade obstruction by dust or debris, Loose or damaged condenser fan wiring, Faulty main PCB output to fan
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the appliance before working near the compressor or condenser area.
- Access condenser fan: Pull the freezer away from the wall. Remove the lower rear access panel to expose the compressor and condenser fan.
- Inspect fan and area: Check for dust, pet hair, or debris blocking the fan blade. Clean thoroughly with a vacuum and soft brush.
- Check fan movement: Spin the blade by hand; it should move freely without grinding. Inspect for cracks or warping.
- Inspect wiring: Ensure the fan connector is secure and wires are not damaged or burnt.
- Test fan motor: Measure resistance across the motor terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed motor. Replace with a Samsung-compatible condenser fan motor if faulty.
- Install new fan: Remove mounting screws, swap the fan blade if separate, install the new motor, and reconnect wiring.
- Reassemble and test: Reinstall the rear panel, restore power, and verify the fan runs when the compressor is on. If 23E persists with a good fan, the PCB may be defective.
