Possible Causes

Defective defrost heater, Failed defrost sensor, Open defrost fuse or thermostat, Wiring harness issue, Main PCB defrost control failure

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the freezer before working on the defrost system.

  • Check for ice pattern: Remove the freezer rear panel. If the evaporator is fully encased in ice, the defrost system is not functioning.
  • Test heater and thermostat: As with 24E, measure resistance of the defrost heater and continuity of the defrost thermostat/fuse. Replace any open components with Samsung OEM parts.
  • Verify defrost sensor: Test the defrost sensor resistance at room temperature and compare to spec. Replace if out of range.
  • Inspect wiring: Look for burnt connectors or damaged wires between heater, thermostat, sensor, and PCB.
  • Reassemble and monitor: After replacing faulty parts, reassemble and restore power. If 25E recurs despite good components, the main PCB may need replacement by a qualified technician.
