Possible Causes
Corrupted EEPROM on main PCB, Power surge or brownout event, Manufacturing defect in control memory chip
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the freezer before accessing the control board.
Steps:
- Power reset: Disconnect power for 10–15 minutes, then restore. If F1 clears and does not return, it may have been a transient glitch.
- Check power quality: Ensure the freezer is plugged directly into a properly grounded outlet, not a long extension cord or overloaded power strip.
- Inspect control board: Access the main PCB and look for visible damage. There is usually no field repair for EEPROM faults.
- Replace main PCB: If F1 persists, replace the main control PCB with the correct Sharp part. Transfer any configuration jumpers as per the service documentation.
