Freezer not cooling at all; interior is at room temperature, compressor not running, display may be on.

Safety: Unplug the freezer before working near the compressor or control wiring.

Steps:

• Confirm power: Verify the outlet has power by testing with another appliance. Check the freezer's power cord and plug for damage.
• Listen for compressor: With the unit plugged in, listen for humming or clicking from the compressor area. Repeated clicking suggests start relay/overload issues.
• Access compressor components: Remove the rear lower cover. Inspect the start relay and overload protector on the compressor for burn marks or loose connections.
• Test and replace start components: Remove and shake the relay; if it rattles or shows signs of burning, replace it and the overload with Sharp-compatible parts.
• Thermostat / control check: On mechanical models, bypass the thermostat briefly (connect the two main thermostat wires together with the unit unplugged, then plug in to test). If the compressor starts, replace the thermostat. On electronic models, check that the main PCB is outputting voltage to the compressor when cooling is demanded.
• Compressor test: If start components and controls are good but the compressor does not run, test windings as described under E8. A failed compressor requires professional replacement.
